Creating Characters Your Readers Will Love. Or Hate.

The world runs on relationships. Friends, lovers, family, business associates. No matter how you twist and turn it or hold it up to the light, relationships influence our perceptions, our feelings, and our decisions. You might think, “You’re crazy. I don’t let anyone tell me what to do or how to feel.” Ahhh, but you do. Subconsciously.

Relationships with others allow us to pitch ideas, brainstorm, vent our frustrations. Our hopes, fears, dreams, and nightmares, all of these can be projected onto others. Or reflected back to us. All through relationships. Though we may not even realize it. And relationships don’t just happen between humans. We have relationships with our pets, our homes, our cars, even the environments in which we live. Urban, rural, or untamed, we experience relationship with the world around us.

But I digress. Today I want to discuss the relationship your readers have with your characters.

Characters are what draw your reader into your story. Create a memorable 3 dimensional character and you keep your readers.
