My dream has always been to make a difference in this world and improve lives, even if it’s just by bringing a smile to someone’s face. Whether I spread it through my own writing or guide other writers to spread it through theirs, all that matters is we leave the world better than we found it. I also love happy endings. But if endings can’t be happy, they should at least leave a reader with hope.

Everyone has a story worth telling. And I have the tools, experience, and training to help you tell yours. I use a powerful combination of tough love, experience, and proven strategies. Just as important, I provide the space and support you need through this often grueling and lonely process.

I edit and coach both fiction and nonfiction writers. Fiction genres include fantasy, paranormal, romance, mystery, and new adult fiction. Nonfiction genres include spirituality and narrative/creative nonfiction. I serve writers who are willing, ready, and able to invest in themselves and their success.

I started my own business Blue Octopus Editing & Coaching because, along the way, I found I really love helping people discover and work for their own dreams. I also realized book coaching brought together all the skills and experiences I had acquired over the decades. And I want to share those skills. I especially enjoy helping new writers who are tired of struggling alone. I too have been overwhelmed and ready to just give up. I know how frustrating and hopeless it can feel to have a dream but not know how to achieve it. Let alone how to start.

I’ve moved across the country numerous times over the course of my life. And I’ve held several exciting jobs. I have been a substitute teacher, counselor, litigation paralegal, researcher, consultant, technical writer, and project manager. You can say I have grit. For I never stopped writing or helping others become better writers.

Why did I choose Blue Octopus for my business name? Well, the octopus is curious, intelligent, and a great problem solver. Its tentacles reach out to experience, learn, and untangle the mysteries it encounters. I also imagine the octopus’ tentacles support, nurture, and guide the hopes and dreams of writers as they embark on their incredible journey of discovery and fulfillment.
